New BatesMeron Lookbook Bzzzes InHalf a year ago, we began secretly developing our company brochure at an undisclosed location three miles below sea level. And what emerged this month was the BatesMeron Lookbook: a 44–page showcase of our capabilities, our portfolio and our flavor.
The book explores the concept of bzzz—what it is, how it helped a dozen clients and why it’s awesome creating your own. (Excerpt: “Bzzz makes smart people rich and cool people famous.”) We want ambitious professionals to flip through and envision their own ideas taking life.
The only way to benefit from this book is to hold it in your hands. (Literally—the paper has a sweet texture like the skin of an apple.) So if you haven’t already received a copy, click here to request yours today.

Sweet Design Arrives At River NorthOn July 24, BatesMeron left our South Loop starter suite for brand new digs in River North. (920 N Franklin, to be specific.)
Everything about the place buzzes with true Chicago creativity—the raw concrete and brick, the lush carpet and tile, the atrium–style production area, the luxe executive lounge. And with design resources like Paper Source and Pearl just two blocks away, we’re right around the corner from aesthetic inspiration.
And in case you needed an excuse to stop by, we’re a short stroll from some of Chicago’s hottest restaurants, like MK, Japonais and Kiki’s Bistro.
Best of all, our new office gives us the environment to do even better creative work for our clients. Why? Because we never want to leave. (Don’t tell our significant others.)

Olive Grand Opening was Eco–Awesome
We often talk excitedly about Olive, our organic clothing client in Wisconsin (just north of Milwaukee). This luxe boutique—which we sometimes refer to as “the Whole Foods of apparel”—opened its doors in early May.
As the first retail store we designed from the ground up, Olive holds a special place in our hearts. We developed the name and logo, created the website, rolled out a comprehensive ad and PR campaign, even participated in the interior design. (Everything had to be eco–friendly, right down to printing on recycled paper with soy–based inks.)
So when the grand opening party arrived in June, we had to be there. There was nothing like the buzz we felt walking into a packed store: customers and community members swarming around, catered organic food and wine, and a very proud owner soaking in the vision he made a reality. Just a great night, and a great start in sales.
